Towards a Plastic-Free Operation

At Neptune, our commitment to reducing plastic began in 2015.
Since then, we’ve followed a clear roadmap to phase out single-use plastics and eliminate unnecessary consumption across operations.
Since 2019, in line with EU regulations, reducing plastics has been a systematic priority—supporting global efforts for a more sustainable future

Our gardens’ beauty begins with its soil’s health
The preservation of biodiversity is pivotal in ensuring that nature continues to flourish, thereby supporting the well-being of people and ultimately tourism. At Neptune, we actively take steps towards enhancing biodiversity by implementing sustainable landscape management practices to upgrade our hotel gardens. As a result, a variety of birds, beneficial insects and pollinators are now flooding the hotel’s surroundings – and our guests, their children and us can enjoy the regenerated landscape without any chemicals that are harmful to our health.
Taste Greece – Conscious Food & Beverage Sourcing
A hospitality portal where quality is linked to environmental & social responsibility!
Since 2019, our purchasing policy is defined by two binding Sustainable Procurement Statements in line with European and International Directives and Regulations. The first defines the specifications of the products that the hotel uses in the context of its operation; the second guides procurement in constructions, building renovations and equipment. Challenges such as the pandemic, and the energy and climate crisis, negatively affect the supply chain; however, we continue to strive for optimal results where possible.

Towards a Plastic-Free Operation
Trash is gold
Waste management remains one of the biggest challenges in the efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable tourism development on the Greek islands. To address this, in Kos, we implement a series of actions aimed at reducing waste generation by avoiding, reusing, and returning packaging. At the same time, we strengthen the recycling of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste to diminish the amount of garbage that ends up in the local landfill. Recycling bins have been placed throughout the hotel’s premises to encourage our guests to actively support our effort. At the same time, we raise awareness and motivate our staff with training seminars, instructions on proper recycling, and the placement of special bins in all workplaces.

Social Responsibility
Our explicit commitment to a better world of holidays for our guests, our staff, the local community, and future generations
Our goal is to support the local economy while simultaneously promoting our island’s culture and traditions. We, moreover, strive to provide a healthy, safe, and fair environment for our staff and visitors. We also aim to promote their awakening, as well as the awakening of our partners, the locals, and other tourism industry members.
Community Support
No hotel can truly thrive in isolation from its surrounding community.
Blue Flag
By demonstrating our hotel's commitment to local businesses, products, workforce and culture, we strengthen the local economy, develop an experienced, skilled workforce, invest in our community's reputation for quality and thereby enhance the profile of our hotel.
